fashioned' hobbies its made a real comeback over the last few years.
Get Scrap Booking whatever your age
And it appears to be ageless – you hear elderly people right through to young children who are really discovering (or in some
cases re discovering) scrap booking as a really fun past time and activity. There are even some who you might say have become a bit
addicted to the past time utilising any spare moment to scrapbook..
You might be surprised to discover the hobby of scrap booking has even overtaken golf in the popularity stakes which is absolutely
amazing. Its now reckoned that over 25% of households now participate in scrap booking in one form or another!
How to get into scrap booking
Partly the growth can be attributed to the ease with which anyone can get involved in the hobby. Scrapbooks range from very simple
affairs to very elaborate ones that have been crafted over many years. An album of photos or any other small clippings can make a scrap
book. The subject of the scrap book may vary from babies to pets, or anything you want.
Technology brings New Generations to Scrap Booking
Recently the craft has
gained in popularity because of technically improved and digital cameras that mean for many of us we are snapping away far more often and its
some much cheaper than having films developed. .
Don't Miss the Special 'Scrap Booking' Day
The interest in scrap booking is so intense that the first Saturday in May has been claimed as National Scrap booking Day by
National Scrap booking Association.
Its a terrific hobby which ensures that many happy memories are recorded in a highly personal and individual manner to the people
concerned and or the person producing the scrap book
How to make your first Scrap Book
You will
normally select a favourite subject, this will ensure you keep your interest in your
project and you'll develop skills along the way making the project fun, interesting and something
of which you'll be able to feel proud of. Your scrap book is a kaleidoscope of memories. Whenever you take a look at it in the future, you
will remember all the things related to the particular photo or the event. Its a highly personal snapshot in time.
Viewing someone else's scrapbook may well give you ideas for your own. Don't get bogged down necessarily in the subject, you
should write down your ideas then you can review and decide your subject for your own scrap
book at a later date. Many people once they have a focus on their given subject will illustrate their project not only from their own
photos, cutting etc but will also find added material through research on the internet with photos, book extracts etc
Scrap books may include many things like invitations, drawings, cards, pictures apart from photos. You can give your personal
touch to your scrap book by decorating it with ribbons, stamps, and your own comments will make it more interesting and certainly unique to
your memories and feelings of the event you are choosing to record and celebrate.
Crafting a Treasured Memento whilst relaxing as well!
It really easy to become addicted to scrap booking – once you start its hard to put it down. Many of us find it therapeutic and
relaxing, it gives you relief from your day to day tension and stress. After a hectic schedule when you give only 15 minutes for your scrap
book, it will reduce your fatigue and gives your smile. You will get a scope to show your creative abilities.
There is no deadline or time limit to finish your work in time. You need not have to
do in one go, its easy to put it down and revisit when you have a spare five minutes, do a
bit, put it to one side again – there's no pressure to get it done within a certain time frame unless you want to. Then When you have spare
time, you will more than likely spend it scrap
booking instead of other less productive activities.
If you are doing scrap booking, its a hobby that all the family can join in on, your children will help you and
its a great way for especially young children to develop hobbies skills early on.. They will remember the memories of the special occasion or the
events and enjoy being involved in recording them.
